To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

May I venture in your columns to revive the ancient outcry against the unpardonable obstructions on Boylston street bridge after a football game. It is sufficient hardship for the large crowd always attendant upon a Saturday game to cross the river within the narrow palings of the bridge; but when several automobiles and carriages pass over at the same time, but in the opposite direction, insult is indeed added to injury. It would seem that we had returned to the triumphal procession of the Romans, and that while the chariots pass along, the people as well as the bridge groan. An effective measure might be taken by the football authorities to prevent such outrage by detailing a force of police at the north end of the bridge with instructions to halt all vehicles until the great crush should be over. 1909.
