Glen Cove, Long Island, Oct. 15, 1907.--In the first day's play in the team matches for the intercollegiate golf championship at the Nassau Country Club, Long Island, the University team was defeated by Yale by the score of 13 to 6 1-2. Princeton easily beat Pennsylvania 9 1-2 to 2 1-2. The first pair in was a surprise, for Wilder of Harvard finished 6 up over Abbott of Yale who was intercollegiate champion in 1905.
