In a fast practice game in the Gymnasium last night, the University basketball team defeated the second team by the score of 62 to 13,--the best score the team has made this season.
The practice was by far the most encouraging that has been held during the season, and showed that the team is in excellent condition for the game with Yale tomorrow. The men all played together well and passed the ball accurately. The forwards have been improving rapidly during the week in shooting, and their work last night was especially good. Broun, who has shown steady improvement in shooting baskets from fouls, scored four times in five trials. As Amberg was unable to take part in the game, Miles took his place at centre.
The summary: Score--University Team, 62; Second Team, 13. Goals--from floor: Allen 10, Brooks 8, Broun 7, Burnham 4, Miles 2, Downey 3, Currie 1; from fouls: Broun 4, Downey 1.
