The following appointments to professorships and assistant professorships have been made by the Corporation, from September 1, 1906:
Edwin Francis Gay, Professor of Economics. Professor Gay received the degree of A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1890, and the degree of Ph.D. in Berlin in 1902. Since then he has been successively instructor and assistant professor of Economics in the University.
Algernon Coolidge, Jr., Assistant Professor of Laryngology. Professor Coolidge received the A.B. degree from the University in 1881, the degree of M.D. in 1886, and has been clinical instructor in Laryngology in the University since 1893.
Frederic Thomas Lewis, Assistant Professor of Embryology. Professor Lewis graduated from the University in 1897, and received the degrees of A.M. and M.D. in 1898 and 1901 respectively. He was Austin Teaching Fellow from 1901 to 1902, and Instructor from 1902 to 1906, in Histology and Embryology.
Douglas Wilson Johnson, Assistant Professor of Physiography. Professor Johnson received the degree of S.B. from the University of New Mexico in 1901, and that of Ph.D. from Columbia in 1904. He has since been instructor and assistant professor of Geology in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
