BASEBALL WITH HOLY CROSS

Second Game on Soldiers Field at 3.--Castle to Pitch.

The University baseball team will play its second game with Holy Cross on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Since May 5, when the University team lost to Holy Cross by a score of 4 to 2, the latter team has made consistent improvement, having lost but two out of ten games played. Yale defeated Holy Cross at Worcester on May 12 by a score of 10 to 9, and Fordham recently won from Holy Cross by a score of 2 to 1. Both Yale and Fordham have lost to Holy Cross at other times this season, the former, 15 to 4, and the latter, 8 to 4. Holy Cross has also defeated Georgetown, 14 to 4; Trinity, 2 to 1; Vermont, 13 to 3. Both Wesleyan and the strong Dartmouth team have lost to Holy Cross by the respective scores of 7 to 1 and 6 to 2.

As these large scores denote, Holy Cross has a hard-hitting team, which should be a good test for Castle and for the fielding ability of the University nine. Holy Cross is also fast in the field and on the bases. The game will undoubtedly be very close, but Harvard should win if the fielding is good. Unless improved, the batting of the University team, which has been poor of late, will be a great handicap today.

The batting orders: HARVARD.  HOLY CROSS. Leonard, 3b.  c.f., Cahill Stephenson, 1b.  s.s., Barry Pounds, r.f.  l.f., Hoey Dexter, l.f.  1b., Flynn Simons, s.s.  c., Loftus McCall, 2b.  3b., Ennis Currier, c.  r.f., Reidy Harvey, c.f.  2b., Cashon Castle, p.  p., Hogarty
