INTERCLASS TRACK GAMES

In stadium at 4.-141 Entries.-Juniors and Sophomores Have Strongest Teams.

The annual interclass track games will be held in the Stadium this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Owing to the fact that the meet today will be a final trying out process for the most promising candidates for the team, a much more limited entry list than that of last year's class games, has been found expedient. Instead of the 190 entries of last year there are but 141 this year. Less promising candidates have been asked not to enter.

In each event the first three undergraduates to finish will receive class numerals and cups will be given for first and second places. First place in each event will count five points, second place three, and third place one. Graduate students who are still eligible for the team may compete, but will not be awarded points. The first two undergraduates to finish in each event will receive prizes, regardless of competing graduate students.

All competitors should report promptly at 3.30, and in order that the games may be finished before dark should be ready at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time for their events. Numbers must be secured at the Locker Building before entering any of the events. The officials for the games, whose names appeared in Tuesday's CRIMSON, must be on hand promptly at 3.30 o'clock, and no badges will be held after 3.40.

As far as can be judged at present, the chances of victory lie between the Juniors and Sophomores, but as there is excellent material among the other two classes some close contests are expected. The track which has been carefully rolled and brushed is hard and firm, and unusually fast. In all probability the games will take place without regard to weather conditions unless a heavy storm occurs. The field itself offers good footing for the weight men, while the high and broad jumpers as well as the pole vaulters should experience no difficulty in keeping their ground.

All men who take part in the meet today will be excused from track work tomorrow, but all others should report at the regular hours. An entrance fee of 25 cents will be charged all spectators, except holders of H. A. A. or baseball press tickets. Admission tickets may be purchased at Leavitt & Peirce's or at the field.
