Herbert Thomas Poland '03 died of typhoid fever on March 2 at the University of Rennes, France, where he was studying Celtic literature, as a holder of the Rogers Fellowship for the encouragement of broad and thorough scholarship. Before receiving the fellowship, Mr. Poland pursued the study of Celtic literature in the Graduate School for two years.
