Practically all of the promising candidates for the track team are now working daily in the open, but owing to the soft condition of the ground, are as yet unable to use the track in the Stadium. Under Mr. Lathrop's direction, however, the long distance runners are being sent out in squads along the speedway, and the sprinters individually along the side-walk of Boylston street; while the weight mn are practicing in Soldiers Field under Mr. Quinn's supervision.
Candidates are now reporting at any time between the hours of 11 and 1 o'clock, or 3 and 6 o'clock, but as soon as men are practicing in Soldiers Field under will be arranged for the squads in each event.
