So far this year about 40 social service entertainments have been given and there are applications for ten more to be given before the end of March. The size of these entertainments has varied considerably. Sometimes only two or three men have taken part, while at other times the services of as many as 20 men have been used. The musical part of these entertainments has been provided by the members of the University musical clubs, but there is a scarcity of men who can perform specialties. Any men in the University who are willing to do Social Service work and who have ability in performing sleight-of-hand tricks, reciting monologues, or in reading aloud, should send their names to J. L. White, Grays 28.
The social service work is in charge of a chairman and two committee, one a committee on organization and the other a committee on management. Formerly one committee took charge of all the work. It is the duty of the first committee to make out the programs for the different entertainments, while the work of the second consists in taking charge of the various entertainments and concerts, after the programs have been made out.
The men in charge of this work are as follows: chairman--J. L. White '06, committee on organization--H. H. Perry '07, N. C. Nash '07, H. L. Sigourney '07, R. B. Gregg '07; committee on management--H. T. Pierpont '06, P. T. Christie '07, A. g. Grant '07, C. C. Nash '07, G. G. Ball '08, G. Emerson '08, J. B. Husband '08, and A. W. Reggio '08.
