The first of the Hyde lectures, given annually under the auspices of the Cercle Francais, will be delivered by M. Anatole Le Braz in Sanders Theatre this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. The general subject of the course is "Brittany", which will be treated this afternoon under "La Bretagne; la terre et la race." M. Le Braz will be introduced by Assistant Professor F. N. Robinson of the department of English.

M. Le Braz is the ninth distinguished Frenchman to deliver the lectures which were founded by James Hazen Hyde '98. He is a native of Brittany, a profound student of the customs and literature of the Province, and is therefore an authority on his subject, which will include a description of Brittany, the relation of the Breton genius to that of other Celtic people, the Breton literature, Brittany's part in French history, and her influence over the famous writers.

Admission to the lecture this afternoon will be by ticket until 4.25 o'clock, when the theatre will be opened to the public.

M. Anatole Le Braz will give his second lecture on Friday.
