To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

Students are hereby warned against the man who has recently been entering and taking articles from College rooms and passing worthless checks. He enters rooms boldly on the pretence of leaving a note for the occupant. If discovered he usually pretends to be looking for the occupant's room-mate, and endeavors to have a check cashed on the ground that he himself is a friend of the absent occupant. Recently he has been entering rooms during the morning lecture hours and between 6 and 7 o'clock in the evening, having stolen in all over a thousand dollar's worth of property.

The man may be described as between 24 and 25 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing about 140 pounds. He is broad-shouldered, although mediumly built. He has a dark complexion, dark hair and a smooth, pale face, which is particularly noticeable on account of heavy, black rings under the eyes. Usually he wears a stiff hat and a dark paddock coat, and often patent leather shoes.

Any student who sees or meets this man is urgently requested to detain him until the arrival of an officer. Police headquarters may be reached by telephone during the day or night.
