Dormitory rowing starts this afternoon in preparation for the bumping races which will be held on the river near the University boathouse in about three weeks. The work of the crews will be closely watched by Coaches Stephenson, Newell, and Vail for promising material for the University and class crews next spring.
At the various dormitories last evening the following eights were organized: Randolph, Weld, Matthews, Ridgely, Holyoke street, Westmorly, Grays, Craigie-Waverley, Perkins-Conant, Thayer, Russell, Stoughton-Hollis-Holworthy, Dunster-Dana-Drayton, Claverly, Mt. Auburn street, Hampden-Beck-Fairfax. The first eight crews will row from the Newell boathouse, and the others from the Weid.
