F. J. Sulloway 3L. defeated J. H. Chase 1G. in the final round of the fall tennis tournament yesterday afternoon, 6-2, 6-4, 6-3, thus winning the University championship. From the beginning Sulloway assumed the offensive and won the first set by good placing and clever net work, frequently drawing Chase out of position. The next set was won by similar tactics. Chase, however, played a very much better game in this set, being particularly good on his back-line shots. In the third set Sulloway played more on the defensive, seldom running up to the net. Chase made some very good shots at the net, but nevertheless was often passed by Sulloway's clever placing. The match on the whole was very interesting and well-played throughout.
The results in the third round of the doubles played yesterday were as follows: F. F. deRham 3L. and G. P. Gardiner '10 defeated H. S. Deming 2L. and J. C. Monnet 2L., 6-8, 6-2, 6-3; C. R. Leonard '08 and W. H. Y. Hackett '08 defeated A. Fraser-Campbell '08 and S. T. Stackpole '07, 6-4, 6-2; J. M. Morse '07 and R. S. Lovering '08 defeated D. V. Leland Sp. and J. L. Swarts '07, 6-2, 6-1.
