The University basketball team will play its fourth game of the season with Princeton in the Gymnasium this afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Since the game with Cornell last week the University team has improved in general aggressiveness and all around play. In the game with Boston College on Monday the play was fast and accurate throughout the first half, but in the second half both teams committed many fouls by holding, and the play was listless. On Tuesday a long practice was held in trick formations from the toss-up, which were worked successfully against the second team. In this game, however, the University team had the same tendency to slacken play after gaining a decided lead. The practice of the two following nights was fast throughout and decidedly encouraging. In passing and shooting the men were accurate and took advantage of every opportunity, while the defense remained strong. The team play excelled any so far this year, and in carrying the ball up the floor Captain Griffiths had unusually good support.
In the game this afternoon the University team should have excellent chances for success. Princeton has been twice defeated by the University of Pennsylvania, and once by Dartmouth. Harvard was also defeated by Pennsylvania in its first game of the season, but has improved very much since that time.
Admission to the game will be 50 cents, but season tickets at $2 for ten games will be on sale at the entrance.
The line-up of the two teams will probably be: 1909 vs. Cambridge Latin School at 3. The Freshman basketball team will play its fifth game of the season with the Cambridge Latin School this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Gymnasium. The team play of the Freshmen has improved although it cannot be relied on owing to the great number of changes which have been made in the lineup. The Freshmen will line up as follows r.g., Brooks; l.g., Jones, White; c., Allen, Dial; r.f., Currie; l.f., Davis.
