BASKETBALL WITH CORNELL

Second Game of Intercollegiate Schedule in Gymnasium at 8.30 o'clock.

The University basketball team will play its second game of the season with Cornell in the Gymnasium this evening at 8 o'clock.

Although the work of the University team was disappointingly weak in the game with Pennsylvania last Saturday, the men have played more aggressively in practice this week, and the goal shooting has improved considerably. It is probable, therefore, that the game this evening will be very evenly matched, with the chances slightly in favor of Harvard. The defense, which did not come up to expectations in the last game, is improving, and is the strongest point of the team. The forward positions are more uncertain, and it is probable that MacAusland and Brooks, who has recently been taken up from the Freshman squad, will be given an opportunity to play. In passing and handling the ball the team is still very weak and the team play consequently remains undeveloped.

Although Cornell finished ahead of Pennsylvania in the intercollegiate league last year, it is probable that the game will be no harder than that last Saturday, for Cornell has not played any games this year, and will be handicapped by lack of practice as well as by unfamiliarity with the floor. Several trick formations have been developed by Cornell.

Admission to the game this evening will be 50 cents, but season tickets at $2 for ten games will be on sale at the entrance.

The line-up of the two teams will be: HARVARD.  CORNELL. Broun, r.f.  l.f., Dickerman Quigley, Brooks, l.f.  r.f., Lyford, capt. Amberg, MacAusland, c.  c., Root Griffiths, capt., r.g.  l.g., Brinkerhoff Burnham, l.g.  r.g., Avery
