Bishop J. H. Vincent h. '96 delivered an address on "The Methodist Faith" under the auspices of the Religious Union last evening in Peabody Hall, Phillips Brooks House.

Bishop Vincent described in detail the faith of a true Methodist, and particularly emphasized his absolute dependence on God, citing in contrast Matthew Arnold's poem, "Self Dependence." The remainder of his talk was devoted to reviewing the principal emphases of Methodism.

This lecture was the first of a series of addresses on the various religious faiths, to be given during the spring by prominent men of different denominations. Rev. F. W. Tom kins '72, of Philadelphia, will deliver the next address on "The Protestant Episcopal Faith," and Charles E. Jefferson of the Broadway Tabernacle, New York, has consented to speak later on "Congregationalism."
