The new club house of the Harvard Club, New York, which is in process of construction, will be ready for occupancy about June 1. Alterations have been made on the old club house and a large extension added, so that the new building new reaches from 44th through to 45th street.

The work on the old part of the club house is practically completed, and the three squash courts on the top of the building are finished, as are also the twenty new bed rooms, which are one of the most important features of the new club. They are intended primarily for non-resident members, and are to be furnished by graduate classes. Each class will adopt one room as, in a sense, its own, placing its class number on the door and class photographs and other memorabilia in the interior. All the rooms have been already taken in this way by different classes.

The old billiard room has been converted into the "council room" and will be used also as a private dining room for class dinners. The only part of the new club house on which considerable work still remains to be done is the interior of the big dining hall fronting on 45th street, which is to be known as Harvard Hall, and which will be finished on the style of the old English college dining halls. The regular evening dinner, which has become an important institution in the life of the Harvard Club, even with the inadequate accommodations of the old club house, will be served in Harvard Hall.
