FIRST HYDE LECTURE TODAY

By M. Rene Millet in Sanders at 4.30.-- Public will be Admitted at 4.25.

M. Rene Millet will give the first of the series of Hyde lectures, under the auspices of the Cercle Francais, this afternoon in Sanders Theatre at 4.30 o'clock. His subject will be "Coup d'Oeil sur l'Histoire de la Mediterranee. L'Unite du Monde Antique.

Before retiring to private life in 1900, M. Millet was prominently connected with the French government. In 1885 he was appointed Minister to servia; from 1889 to 1894 he occupied a similar post 'in Sweden, and in 1895 he was sent as Resident General to Tunis, where he remained until his retirement from public service. An authority on colonial matters, he has published the following works embodying his observations: "La France Provinciale", "souvenirs des Balkans," "Expansion de la France et la Diplomatic," "La Senbie Economique," and "Les Conditions du Travail en Suede et Norvege."

Admission to the lecture will be by ticket only until 4.25 o'clock, when the public will be admitted.
