International Chess Match

The members of the Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia chess teams will hold a meeting in New York on Saturday to decide on the composition of an American team for an international match with Oxford and Cambridge.

No international match has been held since 1903 because of the difficulty of securing a cable, but it is probable that one can be arranged for next March. As the Americans won the match in 1903, score 4 1-2 to 1 1-2, they will, if a match is decided on, be the defenders of the Rice Trophy. Of the five previous intercollegiate matches England and America have each won two, and have played one draw.
