NO SCRIMMAGE YESTERDAY

In Signal Practice Attention Centered on Developing Smoother Team Play.

There was no scrimmage yesterday afternoon in the practice of the University squad, but the first eleven and a team of substitutes were given a long signal practice. The time was chiefly devoted to making the plays go off as smoothly as possible and to developing team play, and not as much attention was given to speed in starting. Most of the regular first team players were back in the line up and in fairly good condition after the hard game Saturday. Lockwood, who injured his elbow Saturday, is getting along well, but was only given light work yesterday. Fultz was unable to run through signals on account of a lame ankle. Cavenee was in the line-up for the first time since he broke his collar-bone early in the season. Harrison, who has been playing on the second eleven has been taken up to the first squad and ran through signals at fullback, both on the first eleven and on the team of substitutes.
