Candidates for the University basketball team will be called out November 27, and the class series will begin as soon after that as possible. Cups will be given to the team winning this series. Soon after this class series is finished the University squad will be picked. There will be no Christmas trip this year and the scrub series for men who do not make the University squad will be held after the mid-year period instead of before. In this series also prizes will be given to the members of the winning team.

Under the new ruling of the Athletic Committee it has been possible for the team to rejoin the Intercollegiate league, from which it withdrew last year.

Last year's team was one of the best the University has ever had. It won nine games, including those with University of Pennsylvania and Yale, and lost four, three of which were played on consecutive nights. Of last year's team R. F. Griffiths '06, captain, H. R. Snyder 1L., and E. L. Burnham '07, have returned this year. R. B. Gring '06 and C. W. Randall 1L., who have played in former years on the University team, are also back, so that the prospects for an excellent team are good.
