Mr. R. A. Woods, of the South End House, Boston, will conduct the discussion at the first meeting of the course on civic problems at 7.30 o'clock this evening in the parlor of Phillips Brooks House. The general topic will be "The Motives and Working Principles of the University Settlement."
The course has for its object the consideration of civic problems with special reference to social settlements and will hold its meetings fortnightly in Phillips Brooks House during February, March and April. It will be conducted as a seminar course under the general direction of the resident workers of South End House, Boston. Though intended primarily for men interested in the aspects of modern charitable effort, it is open to all members of the University.
