HARVARD, 6; PRINCETON, 5

University Hockey Team Won Close and Spirited Game in New York Saturday.

The University hockey team in its second intercollegiate game defeated Princeton at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, Saturday evening by the score of 6 to 5. The game was spirited and very close, the score at the end of the second half being 5 to 5. An extra period of five minutes was played before Wilder shot the deciding goal.

At the outset the University team outplayed Princeton, making three goals in the first ten minutes. Newhall scored on a long lift from the center of the ice, and Callaway and Townsend on hard shots from the sides of the rink. Leake, after stopping a weak pass of Grant's, scored Princeton's first goal. Townsend then scored again for Harvard from a scrimmage, and just before the end of the half, Winter, on a pass from Chew, shot Princeton's second goal. The score at the end of the half was 4 to 2 in favor of Harvard.

In the second half the University team weakened considerably and seemed confused by the rapid play of the Princeton forwards. The men played on the defensive the greater part of the half but were unable to stop Princeton's advance. Levis scored three times and Leake once for Princeton, but one of the former's goals was not allowed because of off-side play preceding it. Shortly before the end of the half Pell scored for Harvard, tieing the score. In the extra period the University forwards played desperately and kept the puck almost entirely in Princeton's territory, Wilder finally shooting the winning goal from a scrimmage. The summary: HARVARD.  PRINCETON.
