The University basketball team defeated Dartmouth in a fast and aggressive game yesterday afternoon by the score of 26 to 19. Throughout the first half the play was very close, both sides scoring four times from the floor and Harvard, in addition, throwing three goals from fouls. Dartmouth scored in the first minute of play and continued to show superior team work throughout the half. The University team outclassed its opponents both in shooting and in blocking throws.
At the opening of the second half Dartmouth took the offensive and by clever passing tied the score. The playing became somewhat rough but few fouls were called. Harvard was also strong on the defensive, but the forwards were weak in covering. Both Henderson and Griffiths played fast games, the latter throwing several difficult baskets. McGrail did the best work for Dartmouth.
