HOCKEY WITH COLUMBIA

In New York Tonight.--Columbia Good Individually and Hard Game Expected.

In its first game of the intercollegiate series the University hockey team will play Columbia on the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, this evening at 8 o'clock.

Up to the present time the forwards, although heavy men and fast skaters, have developed little team work. Fairly good progress was made until about a week ago when MacLeod was put on probation and forced to leave the squad. The principal fault is their failure to follow back and to aid the defence after losing the puck. The defence, though weak early in the season, has improved greatly and is now fairly satisfactory.

The Columbia team last Saturday defeated Princeton 3 to 1 and has lost to the New York Hockey Club and the Crescent Athletic Club. Individually the team is very strong and a very close game is expected.

The teams will line up as follows: HARVARD.  COLUMBIA. Pell, l.e.  r.e., Armstrong Townsend, l.c.  r.c., Callahan (capt.) Callaway (capt.), r.c.  l.c., Lang Wilder, r.e.  l.e., Bode Newhall, c.p.  c.p., Jackson Grant, p.  p., Carter Manning g.  g., Ebling
