Reports were published yesterday concerning a proposed agreement between Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but they cannot yet be officially confirmed. It is understood, however, that no agreement is being considered by which the name or individuality of the Institute of Technology, in the event of possible alliance with Harvard, wishes to retain control of its own funds, its corporate name and existence as a school for teaching its special branches, control of its own courses, and its own government in all private matters. Further details are expected within a week.
