Freshman Nine Defeat Noble School.

The Freshman baseball team defeated the Noble and Greenough School on Soldiers Field yesterday by a score of 16 to 15, in a game consistently poor throughout. The batting of the Freshmen was weak, and for the most part the players knocked high flies which had but little carrying power. House was unsteady in the box, gave bases freely on balls, and fielded his position poorly. Greene, who took his place in the third inning, was better, but had difficulty in locating the plate. The fielding was inexcusable, and the opposing team ran bases at will.

The Noble team hit well and hard, clearly outplaying the Freshmen, and but for a costly error in the ninth inning, would have won the game.
