The University tennis team will hold a dual meet with Columbia on Jarvis Field Monday. The matches in singles will begin at 10 o'clock in the morning, and those in doubles at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Each side will be represented by six men in the singles, and the same six in pairs, in the doubles. Each match will count one point and will be for the best two out of three sets.
The University team will be stronger than in the match with Yale on May 21, because of the playing of W. J. Clothier '04 and G. A. Lyon 3L., both experienced players. The Columbia team, though defeated by Yale on May 16 by a score of 6 to 3, has two strong players in Mahan and Leroy. A victory over Columbia would give Harvard the intercollegiate tennis championship, as Columbia and Yale have both defeated Princeton, and Harvard has defeated Yale. The pairing of the men in doubles has been made as follows: Clothier and Prentice, Lyon and Bishop, Larned and Smither. In the singles the men will probably play as follows:
