Weld Freshmen Won.

In the race between the Weld and Newell Freshman crews yesterday, over the regular mile and seven-eighths course down-stream, the Weld crew won by about three-quarters of a length. The official time was 10 minutes and 30 seconds. The conditions for the race were most favorable, there being besides the ebb tide, a strong, west wind blowing directly down the course. For the entire distance the race was closely contested, and at no time was there more than a quarter of a length of open water between the boats.

The officials were as follows: referee--R. F. Manning '04; judges at the finish--D. C. Hyde '06 and G. Whitney '07; time-keepers--Vail and Rice.

Following were the orders of the crews:

Weld Freshmen--Stroke, French; 7, Fay; 6, Durant; 5, Foss; 4, Lane; 3, Harrison; 2, Lanahan (cautain); bow, Fuller; cox., Stone.

Newell Freshmen--Stroke, Gregg (captain); 7, Irving; 6, Whiting; 5, Olney; 4, Richmond; 3, Ramsay; 2, Perry; bow, Brown; cox., Wetherell.
