The University basketball team left Boston at 6 o'clock last evening for Princeton, where it will play the Princeton University team this evening. Tomorrow evening the team will play Pennsylvania at Philadelphia.
The Princeton team since its defeat by Harvard four weeks ago by the score of 17 to 8, has improved greatly and will have the advantage of playing on its own floor. Considering the loss of Bigelow, Randall and Grant, the showing of the University team in practice the past week, has been very encouraging. Henderson, who will take Grant's place at forward, played in several University games last season and by his ability to throw baskets, should increase the scoring powers of the team. K. Smith was also a member of last year's team. He has played a strong game at center on the second team throughout this season. Stinchfield, who will play guard, has the advantage of two years' experience on the Bates College team. Gring and Underwood, the only two men who have played regularly on the team are in excellent condition and may be relied upon to play well.
