In practice yesterday the University basketball team defeated the second by the score of 28 to 18. The large score made by the second team is partly accounted for by the absence from the University line-up of Bigelow and Gring, the regular guards. On the offense, the play of the first team was excellent, the passing being swift and the shooting accurate. When the ball changed hands, however, the men were slow to cover their opponents.
