The annual intercollegiate cross-country run will be held on Travers Island this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Teams have been entered by Harvard, Yale, Pennsylvania. Columbia and Cornell. The chances of victory favor Cornell, which has won the championship for the last two years.

On the Harvard team, three of last year's men, Rowland, Whitaker, and Harvard, will run this afternoon. Practice during the fall has developed but little team work and the chances for success this afternoon are not very favorable. In the run with Technology at Brookline on November 12 the team secured second and fourth places, Lorenz of Technology winning by one-eighth of a mile.

This is the second year that the run has been held on the Travers Island course, which is six miles in length and is laid out after the fashion of the English cross-country courses.

Seven men may be entered in each team, but only the first four to finish will quality for places. Each place will count as many points as the actual position of the man in finishing, and the team having the smallest total will win the meet. Individuals finishing first, second and third will receive medals, and members of the teams winning first, second and third places will receive gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
