Under the direction of Coach Sugden, 88 candidates for the Freshman football team began work yesterday on Soldiers Field. The practice was light, and consisted mainly in passing and falling on the ball and in starting. A. S. Eyre '99, R. A. Derby '05, W. C. Matthews '05, and J. Parkinson, Jr., '06, assisted in the coaching. Squad captains will be chosen today.
For the next few days the work will be light, with a view to getting the men into condition for the first line-up, which will take place the latter part of the week.
The first game will be played with St. Mark's School at Southboro, Saturday.
Thirty-five men reported for fall baseball practice yesterday afternoon.
