Owing to a misunderstanding, only a few candidates for the Freshman crew reported yesterday. All Freshmen should report at the University boathouse today at the hours at which they intend to row, whether they have previously been assigned to squads or not.
The men will row on the machines until February. For the present they will receive individual coaching in mastering the rudiments of the stroke. In about two weeks there will be a cut in the squad and temporary eights will be formed. From that time until Mr. Colson's arrival the men will row in crews and will also receive individual coaching. Mr. Colson will assume general charge of the squad about February 1, and there will be another cut a few days later.
The following five men registered yesterday, and will report at 5.30 today at the University boathouse dressed to row: E. L. Clark, G. W. Haigh, F. W. Lander, P. H. Leonard, P. J. Ramsey. The following men who registered Wednesday, but who have not yet been assigned to squads will report today at the hours at which they intend to row: F. R. Dick, E. C. Potter, Jr., H. A. Walker, J. Early. The following six men have registered as coxswains: S. E. Brown, W. A. Forbush, H. B. Ogilby, G. A. Schneider, J. K. Stone, H. J. Wiener.
James Wray has resigned his position as coach of the class crews at the Weld to become coach of the Detroit Boat Club. He will leave Cambridge on April 1.
