Baseball Practice.

The practice of the University baseball team yesterday was devoted chiefly to fielding and base-running. In the field, the men showed life, and as a general rule threw accurately. Matthews was a little uncertain in recovering grounders, however, and Carr had a tendency to misstime his throw with men on bases. During the last part of the afternoon, the substitutes were put on bases, and the infield given practice in catching them between bases and at the plate. This part of the work was not encouraging, both the running and fielding being slow and crude.

On Saturday the nine will play Pennsylvania on Soldiers Field in its last regular game before the final series with Yale, which begins at Cambridge on Thursday, June 18.
