Second Crew Leaves Today.

The second University crew will leave the Square at 3.45 o'clock this afternoon for Ithaca, where the race with the second crews of Cornell and Pennsylvania will be rowed Saturday afternoon over the two-mile course on Cayuga Lake. The men will take the 4.30 o'clock train from the North Station and will arrive at Ithaca at 9.40 o'clock tomorrow morning.

A change was made yesterday in the order of the crew and as a result the practice was rather unsatisfactory. Minturn and Hartwell, who have been rowing at 7 and bow respectively, changed places in order to make the work lighter for Minturn, who is suffering from a weak back. In a time row down-stream over the mile and seven-eighths course the work was noticeably ragged. Several of the men showed a tendency to be late at the catch, and the whole crew rowed lifelessly. The time made was slow, and at no time was the stroke raised above 32 to the minute. On the way back to the boathouse, however, the men rowed better together and with more life and drive.

The order in which the crew rowed yesterday, and which will probably be the same in Saturday's race, was as follows:

Stroke, Dillingham; 7, Hartwell; 6, R. Foster; 5, Haycock; 4, Derby; 3, Ober; 2, Webster; bow, Minturn; cox., Ivy.

R. Sanger '04 and A. W. Locke '05 will be taken as substitutes. Coach Higginson will go on to Ithaca tomorrow afternoon, arriving there Saturday morning.
