The management of the university crew is making every effort to have the spring regatta an important event. Shells will be provided for all the scrub crews which are formed. By a decision of the management, no man who has won his "Y" on the university crew will be allowed to row this year at Annapolis, but those men who have previously rowed on the four-oar will be eligible. W. H. Peckham 1903, has been appointed captain of the senior crew. The freshman crews are still in an undeveloped state, but under efficient coaching they are showing up well.
Great interest is being taken in the newly formed military companies. There are two academic and one scientific school companies having a total enrolment of over 140 men. This week examinations will be held in the theory and practice of military manoeuvers for the selection of captains and sergeants for the three companies. One of the companies will be uniformed.
Charles Gould, captain of the 1901 football team has been chosen head coach of the Navy team.
At a recent meeting of the Corinthian Yacht Club the plans for a new club house at Morris Cove were accepted. Work on it will commence at once and it is expected to be ready for occupancy by April 13. In the spring the regular series of cup races will be held and short cruises will be taken to points at a distance of about fifteen miles from New Haven.
