The University basketball team will play Princeton at Princeton this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. The Princeton team since its defeat by Harvard in the Gymnasium three weeks ago has improved greatly and will have the added advantage of playing on its own floor. In the past two years Princeton has been beaten but once on her own floor. The Harvard team has improved slightly since the defeat by Columbia. Inaccuracy in passing seems to be the chief fault of the team, and a tendency to lose sight of the ball seems also apparent. Owing to the hard practicing at shooting goals during the past few days this department has been strengthened considerably and should offset some of the other faults. As a whole the team is not in good condition, and on the staying powers of the men the game this afternoon will in a large measure depend. Owing to the poor condition of Randall, Smith will probably play at centre in this game. Hanavan at guard is still bothered by his arm, which was injured in the Brown game. The team will spend the night at Princeton, leaving for New York tomorrow afternoon, prior to the game with Columbia.
