At the meeting of the President and Fellows of Harvard College held in Boston last Monday, it was voted to fix the number of Austin Teaching Fellowships at twenty-four. These fellowships are not subject to application like other fellowships and scholarships, but are treated like assistantships and annual instructorships as regards the manner of appointment. Of the twenty-four fellowships twenty are under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and four under the Faculty of Medicine.

The titles of the following assistants were changed to Austin Teaching Fellow: A. Pope, assistant in fine arts; R. C. Wells, assistant in chemistry; W. M. Gregory, assistant in geology.

Edmund T. Miller was appointed Austin Teaching Fellow in economics.

The following assistants were appointed: C. W. Thompson in elocution; W. S. Archibald in English; W. C. Arensberg in English; R. W. Richards in geology; H. W. Holmes in English; E. R. Markham in shop-work.

The following instructors were appointed for one year from September 1, 1903: W. R. Ranson in mathematics; E. C. Froehlich in mathematics.

R. B. Anderson was appointed as a second assistant librarian of the Law School.

C. G. Pringle was appointed botanical collector for the calendar year 1904.
