Freshman Football.

The practice of the Freshman football squad yesterday consisted mostly of elementary work in which there remains much to be accomplished. The line lacks in weight and energy, and the squad as a whole is listless and indifferent in spirit. An encouraging feature is the punting, but in other work the men are not as far advanced as the average Freshman squad at this time of year. After the preliminary work in punting, and running down on kicks for the ends and backs, and in charging and breaking through for the line-men, the squads went through signal practice, after which they lined up for a short scrimmage.

The line-up of the first team was:

Sargent, l.e.; Devonshire, l.t.; Emmons, l.g.; Bacon, c.; Randolph, r.g.; Gilbert, r.t.; Hall, r.e.; Sortwell, q.b.; Leatherbee, l.h.b.; Macdonald, r.h.b.; Reynolds, f.b.
