Charles River Dam Report.

The report of the Charles River Dam Commission to the Massachusetts Legislature has been referred to the Committee on Metropolitan Affairs and the Committee on Harbors and Public Lands for joint action. The joint committee has announced that it will hold public hearings to admit all evidence for or against the proposed dam. The first of these hearings was to have been held yesterday morning, but, in response to a request from the counsel for those opposing the improvement, it was postponed until the first week in February. After the committee has heard the evidence on both sides a report will be made to the Legislature and, if favorable to the dam, the measure drafted by the Commission will brought before the Legislature for its final acceptance or rejection.
