OBITUARY.

Edward M. Wood, Jr., '04.

Edward L. Wood, Jr., '04 died at his summer home at Manchester on Saturday evening, Sept. 20. Wood was fatally injured on Wednesday by the premature explosion of a revolver which he was engaged in cleaning.

Winfred A. Alward 2G.

Henry C. Farrington '05.

Winfred Alexis Alward 2G., of Frederickton, N. B., and Henry Coleman Farrington '05, of Cambridge, were capsized and drowned while sailing off the Isles of Shoals on July 17. Alward, before entering college, had been principal of the Sussex High School at Fredericton. Farrington prepared at the Cambridge Latin School, where he played on the school eleven.

Chester L. Whitmore '04.

Chester Lambert Whitmore '04 was drowned at Winthrop beach on Tuesday, September 9. He was for two years a student at the Dental School, and last year entered the College as a special in the Sophomore class, devoting his time to the study of music.

James H. Bell '94.

James H. Bell '94 died at the house of his father, Dr. James B. Bell, 178 Commonwealth avenue, Boston, on July 3, 1902. He had been confined to the house for about two weeks and the immediate cause of his death was a surgical operation from which he did not have the strength to recover. While in College, Bell was a member of the Glee Club, Institute of 1770, Hasty Pudding and other societies.
