The University Crew.

The University crews had the hardest row of the season yesterday afternoon. Both eights left the boat-house in unchanged orders except that Bullard was unable to row on account of a sprained ankle. He will probably not row again for several days. His place at five was taken by Colby, and Lloyd took Colby's regular seat at three.

In two stretches of nearly a mile each down stream in the lower basin, Bullard's crew finished slightly in the lead. At the Union Boat Club, Sanger was put in place of Smith at two in Ayer's crew; and in Bullard's crew, Dunbar replaced Lloyd at three, and Cunningham took Phillips's seat at two. On the way back, the two eights took the mile and seven-eighths stretch. At Harvard bridge Bullard's crew had a slight lead, but going somewhat out of the course to keep near the launch, finished over a length behind Ayer's crew.
