The preliminary heats of the interscholastic regatta will be held this afternoon, beginning at 3 o'clock, over the mile course from the Harvard bridge to the Union Boat club. The semi-finals will be held tomorrow and the final race on Thursday.
Twelve schools are entered and have been divided into heats as follows:
First heat.--Noble and Greenough's, De Merritte, Waltham High, Mechanic Arts High.
Second heat.--Roxbury Latin, Volkmann, Hopkinson, Stone's.
Third heat.--English High, Boston Latin, Brown and Nichols, Cambridge Latin.
