Of the fourteen men who spoke last night at the second trials for the team to debate against Yale, the following six men were retained: G. M. G. Nichols sL., J. H. Holmes '02, H. K. Stockton '02, W. H. Pitkin '02, G. Bettman '03, and A. A. Ballantine '04. The trials on the whole were above the average. The strong points were the analysis of the question and the ability in handling of evidence; but the rebuttal was indecisive and vague and the form was only mediocre.

Ballantine '04 will support the affirmative; and H. K. Stockton '02, W. H. Pitkin '02 and G. Bettman '03 will uphold the negative. The main speeches will be twelve minutes and the rebuttal five. The judges will be as follows: I. L. Winter '86, H. B. Huntington '97, S. R. Wrightington '97, and R. C. Bolling 3L.
