The lacrosse team defeated the College of the City of New York on Saturday by a score of 7 to 4 in a sharply contested game. Harvard's superior defense work won the game, as the offense was disorganized and inaccurate.
Individually the best work for Harvard was done by Stevenson and Wynne, who preenvted several goals for New York by aggressive defense work. Tomlinson was very weak at goal, and the men in the centre positions were not very effective.
The line-up follows: Goals--Alvord 3, Penhallow 2, French, Goddard, Norman 2, Tisue, Solow. Referee--McConaghy, Crescent A. C. Umpires--Wood, Harvard; Johnson, C. C. N. Y. Time--25 and 20 minute halves.
