The Charles River Dam.

Those opposed to having a dam constructed across Charles River have secured a postponement of all action on the matter until May 1, when there will be a conference of the engineers who represent those who favor and those who oppose the construction.

On Friday President Pritchett of the Dam Commission presented a petition to the Legislature asking that all action be deferred until the session of 1903, since all the evidence needed has not yet been collected. The request was referred to the Committee on Metropolitan Affairs.
