The active rowing season began at the Newell yesterday afternoon. A crew from the Law School and crews from all the classes went out on the river, which was smooth, considering the time of the year. Each crew was out about half an hour and rowed both by fours and eights. Vail coached the Freshmen from a single.
At the Weld the float was not in position, but it is expected that rowing will begin there today. Yesterday the Weld men used the machines and the tank at the University Boat House.
