Fifty candidates for the lacrosse team practiced yesterday afternoon on Divinity Field for the first time this year. The men were divided into University and Freshmen squads, and under the direction of F. B. Taylor 3L. and R. H. Grimes 3L., were coached in work with the sticks. Practice will be confined to stick work until the candidates become accustomed to it. Within a few days the squads will go to Soldiers Field.
Though many of the men have only a rudimentary knowledge of lacrosse, the work yesterday showed considerable promise of good material for development under coaching.
