The second trial for the Princeton debate last night resulted in the retention of the following men: G. Clark '03, J. K. Clark 3L., I. Grossman '02, G. M. G. Nichols 2L., T. H. Reed 1L., E. E. Smith '02. The judges were Mr. Huntington, Mr. Winter and H. B. Kirtland 2L.

The speeches as a whole showed careful preparation, though there were frequent instances of evidence weakly arranged. There was a commendable absence of the customary unsupported assertions, but the form of presentation was crude in nearly every instance. The speaking was too rapid and the enunciation so careless that in some instances the last word of every sentence was lost.

The final trial will be held next Tuesday in the Fogg Lecture Room at 7 o'clock. The men retained will speak as follows: Affirmative, T. H. Reed, I. Grossman, G. M. G. Nichols; negative, E. E. Smith, J. K. Clark, G. Clark. The team when chosen will probably be coached by W. S. Youngman '95.
